Farah Albani is a writer, director, and producer based in Los Angeles, CA.

Originally from the east coast, Farah received her screenwriting certification from Georgetown University, then began her filmmaking career in New York City where she focused on writing and directing narrative films while also working on documentaries and narrative-based commercial projects. In late fall of 2021, Farah released her debut short film, The Owl In My Dreams, a moody and poetic piece about loss and closure.

In her latest film, MAMA, she explores the fine line between hope, patience, and the loss of it through the story of a daughter awaiting the outcome of her mother’s immigration interview across an ocean. MAMA completed it’s year-long festival run in the summer of 2024, after achieving acceptances and nominations at festivals in Berlin, London, Hollywood, and northern Virginia. Since then, MAMA has screened in cities across the east and west coasts to anchor conversations around the dissonance between the sentiment that “we’re all created equal” and the realities of the American immigration system.

Farah is currently in development on two feature films and continues to pursue authentic and meaningful storytelling in all its forms.
